At first I was unhappy that Bernie might be taken out by #MeToo

I don't want people saying he "fell on his sword" or was guilty by association.

I want him to run, crash and burn, and be completely discredited.

But then I thought about it more

What's the saying? "You can't reason someone out of a belief that they didn't reason themselves into."

Berners are impervious to facts and vetting. Their worship of Bernie transcends truth and logic.

Berners believe Bernie is a "civil rights hero" based on one photo from college, despite lack of any other contribution, despite real civil rights heroes saying he wasn't there, and despite black leaders in Vermont saying he ignores them.

Berners believe Bernie is a "champion for women" but can't name a single thing he's ever done for women.

They make excuses for Bernie's Crime Bill vote: "He voted for it only bc of VAWA"

When you show them that he voted for versions that didn't have VAWA, they shut down.

They don't worship Bernie because of anything concrete. They worship Bernie because he has manipulated their feels.

Evidence and reality can't shake the hold Bernie has over them.

The only thing that might change how they view Bernie their hero, is Bernie the man.

And this week, Bernie the man has revealed his true colors.

Even the most ardent acolytes can't ignore the fact that he said he had more important things to do than protect the women on his campaign.

There is no way anyone can spin that as "progressive"

Bernie's mask has slipped to the point that even his true believers must be registering some doubt.

So, yes, I would much prefer for Bernie to be exposed for the charlatan he is on the merits of the argument.

But if this is what it takes, I'll take it.

Also, and I'm treading lightly here:

Becker is the reason Bernie came from nowhere to lose Iowa on a coin toss
Becker is the reason Bernie won Michigan
Becker is the reason it wasn't WW3 on the convention floor in Philly

For the campaign to say he wasn't important is ludicrous.

This looks to me like an disingenuous attempt to discredit one person and scapegoat him for the toxic pervasive culture of the entire campaign.

It wasn't one person, it was all of them.

And it's all going to come out.
