Let's use an example of water consumption for your domestic use.

2. Running tap water from municipalities.
We prefer using 'Municipality's water' and switch to stored water if there is shortage or rationing. Right?
But if severe shortage hits your house, you will then begin using stored water.
Right?
1. Running water = Sugar eg fructose
2. Stored water = Fat stores.
If you deny your body sugar, it will switch to fat stores and that's how you will lose fats.
But if you continue giving it sugar, it won't find a reason to burn fats.
If you continue eating fruits, the body will first use the stored fructose in your liver for energy needs before considering getting energy from fat stores.
This is why being in caloric deficit state is vital if you want to drop those fats.
'So, if I don't eat fruits, where will I get vitamins'?
My answer is usually simple.
EAT VEGETABLE.
They have all vital nutrients just like fruits but do not have sugar.
+ Sugar
+ Fibre
+ Water
+ Vitamins
Vegetables have
+ Fibre
+ Water
+ Vitamins
+ A lot of FIBRE.
Don't eat fruits before, during or after a work out.
You will struggle losing fats.
