Am I watching a different Gillette ad than everyone who’s mad about it...? I don’t understand why people are angry about a message to be the best man you can be by stepping in to stop bullying, being supportive fathers, & calling out bad behavior instead of looking the other way.
What in the ad does Piers think was an attack on masculinity? The only reference to masculinity was *toxic* masculinity. What does Piers think we should allow boys & men to do in order to let boys be boys & men be men? Gang up? Harass? Treat others poorly?
The ad even says “we believe in the best in men.” That’s an inspiring and positive message!
The ad isn’t demonizing malehood — it says, “we believe in the best in men... to act the right way. Some already are.” Which is true, I’ve had men step in to make me feel safe & strangers look after me to make sure I was OK. That’s being a man. That behavior should be encouraged.
And if y’all think this ad is going to hurt Gillette the way the Kaepernick ad hurt Nike...

I explained @ RedState why the Gillette ad is an inspiring & beautiful message that believes in the best of men & seeks to encourage them, not bring them down. (As part of doing so, Gillette is also donating millions of dollars to charities that help men.)
