#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo: It is unacceptable, it undermines the work of this commission, and for what? For a scoop?

#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo also asks the media to give the commission sufficient time to respond to requests for interviews. He says it has happened on two occasions where the commission was given a few hours to respond and then publish articles.

#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo: We regard the work of this commission as very important. We regard it is a national task. Some of the members of our team have been subjected to all sorts of insults in the media by some people. I think its important that they be given support.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi is testifying about another tender received by Bosasa through subsidiaries and collaborating with another business. He says at the time arrangements for the tender were made before the tender specification was issued.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says the tender would be awarded to Phezulu fencing to conceal that Bosasa was winning more tenders. He says the fencing supplied is the best in the world.

#StateCaptureInquiry Back to Agrizzi: Agrizzi says the Correctional Services Department officials Linda Mti and Patrick Gillingham were captured by Bosasa and did as they were told.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Phezulu fencing would get the Correctional Services tender and then transferred to Bopa and Pagopa (sp) which were trusts under Bosasa.

#StateCaptureInquiry We're back from the tea break. Agrizzi says fencing tender was advertised in October 2005. It was awarded to Phezulu fencing in November 2005. Roughly six weeks after it was advertised.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says the initial value of the tender was R487 billion. But it grew at some stage.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi now speaks to another tender Bosasa wanted for prisons. It entailed having central control of TVs in prison. He said he designed the system.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Danny Mansell and Gavin Watson had met with Linda Mti and Patrick Gillingham who had told them that the correctional services department had surplus funds. They wanted this new system in order to use those funds.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says he designed the system and gave the documents relating to it were given to Mansell and Patrick Gillingham. The documents were used for tender specifications.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Sondolo IT bid for the tender. He says it was a given that Sondolo would get the contract.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi: The initial amount for the TV tender was R224 million. 'That's where it started but it needed to grow.'

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says in 2006, company secretary Tony Perry was asked to helped Linda Mti register a company in his mother's name.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says former Correctional Services Commissioner Linda Mti received monthly payments of R65 000 per month from Bosasa, holidays were booked for him, security was provided for him and a house was built for him, among others.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says in one instance he used JJ venter, his late father inlaw's name to book tickets for Mti's family travels.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says school fees were also paid for Mti's children. Bosasa also paid between R10 000 to R20 000 to make a drunk driving case against Mti disappear.

#StateCaptureInquiry We are back from the lunch break. Agrizzi now speaks about a meeting Bosasa had with Riaan Hoeksma in which they asked Hoeksma not to speaks if he was ever approached about an SIU investigation.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi estimates the house built for Mti was of the value of R18 million. He says it would be more than his house which is only valued at R10 million.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says the house for Mti was never put in his name although he stayed in it. He says this was because Mti was being investigated by the SIU and they wanted to be safe.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi now speaks of a meeting between Correctional Services personnel who met with Bosasa in order to discuss the new Commissioner, Vernie Peterson and his refusal to work with Bosasa.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says in the meeting there was Khulekani Sithole a Mr Nxele and a'sbu' from Popocru who were paid R1 million per month in order for them to ensure that Bosasa continued getting contracts with Correctional Services.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says payments were monthly. He says at some point the payments were reduced to R700 000.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Nxele, Durban Correctional Services Commissioner, was unhappy with the R57 500 bribe that was being paid to him.

#StateCaptureInquiry On Patrick Gillingham again. Bosasa bought Gillingham a Mercedes Benz E Class and a Polo for his daughter Megan. Bosasa also paid for Gillingham's legal fees when he contested his suspension at the Correctional Services.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Gillingham's house was raided by the SIU and a Bosasa laptop was found. Agrizzi says fictitious loan agreements to Gillingham from Bosasa was created. Linda Mti also signed a backdated declaration for Gillingham.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi: A new Correctional Services Commissioner Xoliswa Sibeko was appointed. She also wanted nothing to do with Bosasa. So i met with Zach Modise of correctional services to discuss the matter.

#StateCaptureInquiry Pretorius now speaks of an article written by the Mail & Guardian about the Correctional Services tenders.

Agrizzi is asked if the amount of R3 billion mentioned in the article is correct, he says he cannot say if that was the amount.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says then minister of Correctional Services Ngconde Balfour never received anything from Bosasa.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says he spied on DCS officials.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi is asked where journalist Adriaan Basson got information from when he wrote the article that was read here. He says it did not come from him. He would not have given Basson the information because at the time he was loyal to Bosasa.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi confirms Titus Mafolo, former adviser to former president Thabo Mbeki had shares in Bosasa.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Bosasa used travel company Blakes Travel. When media reports around Bosasa's corruption emerged, Agrizzi and others went to Blakes Travel and destroyed all computers containing evidence of travel.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Bosasa spent between R1.7 to R2.2 million on Blakes Travel and that's why the company cooperated. Documents and at least three computers were destroyed.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi: We drove to a hostel we were developing and we threw them in there and then we burnt everything. Burnt all the evidence. The hostel was Luipaardsvlei.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says new travel records had to be recreated to conceal the names and identities of some of the travellers (those who were government officials). He says when travel documents were recreated, they were attributed to him and other Bosasa employees.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Brian Blake was subpoenad to be appear in court by the SIU. The subpoenas were postponed numerous times and he doesn't know if Blake ever testified.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says the attorney involved in the Blake case was told to stymie the investigation. Zondo is concerned that an attorney was paid to stall a case. Agrizzi says even the pope would be corrupted by Bosasa.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says ahead of an SIU investigation, Gavin Watson issued an instruction to have all servers crashed., in order to destroy all information.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says before the crash, he requested all information to be preserved in three hard drives.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says one specific document was one between Linda Mti and Watson for Mti to grant favours at Correctional Services. He photocopied the document and they were all kept in a pile.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi is being pushed about how Watson broke his one rule of not signing anything when he signed the document with Mti. Agrizzi says sometimes Watson slipped up and signed things. He says he saw it and can attest to it.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says all documents were taken and stored on a farm. Andries Van Tonder and Agrizzi were asked to destroy all documents. The one document Watson did not want destroyed was the agreement between him and Mti.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi: Watson shredded document of Mti agreement. Put in a plastic with water like a paper mache and flushed it down the toilet.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says the raid did not happen. But there was an agreement for the SIU to come and copy servers at Bosasa.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says eventually SIU took mirrored images of Bosasa servers. Agrizzi says he and Watson discussed the contents of the report and Watson blamed everyone but himself. 'He said we had to stick with him or the future would be bleak'.

#StateCaptureInquiry Agrizzi says Mark Taverner and wife were subpoenad to appear before the SIU. It was postponed for at least 18 months.

#StateCaptureInquiry Pretorius will now deal with the contents of the SIU report. He says the report deals with only four contracts received by Bosasa at the Correctional Services Department.
