The trouble with slave revolts is that the slave is internalized, meaning the real ruler is a cadre of enslavement apparatchiks still not respecting sovereignty and neither taking full individual responsibility for any action. I live in such a society.
Nominally, the society I live in is a democracy, but the real ruler is the cadre of apparatchiks, who does not and does not want to know how a state's legitimacy is created or when it's absent and the real consequence of this for their own responsibility.
