WATCH Sir Ivan Rogers explain the irrationality of no deal; he's too diplomatic to reveal the true objective for ALL those behind this concept is the avoidance of the two year transition thereby opening the door to the FTA they've been working on with their sponsors, US BUSINESS.

@GeraintDaviesMP has warned about US trade deals being promoted by Conservative MPs in the pocket of Atlas Network organisations such as the IEA and The Heritage Foundation whose goal is a low-tax, small state, deregulated economy off the shores of Europe.

Obscure pro-Brexit group spends tens of thousands on Facebook ads. The new rules do not force an advertiser to declare the ultimate source of the money for any political campaigns, meaning it is simple to place adverts with minimal transparency.

You can use many variations but here's how easy it is to get around these facile security measures........
And don't forget, because of Facebook's intransigence, over transparency of information only they hold, nobody knows if this scenario occurred in 2016, the Electoral Commission are unable to investigate Goddard Gunster, AIQ and others.

Sir Ivan Rogers, the UK's former ambassador to the EU, has given another excellent lecture on the state of Brexit that everyone interested should read. Highlights:

#1: why Brexit does mean Brexit
#2: Britain's immigration concerns are very different to other EU members

"For every other Member State, without exception, free movement is not at all the same business as external migration."
#3: UK made big mistakes in drawing its initial red lines. If we do it again for the next stage, the result will be even worse.

Sir Ivan Rogers, UK's former ambassador to the EU, delivered a startlingly good lecture to Trinity College, Cambridge last night.

"Brexit as a revolution"

Some highlights:

#1: The revolution is already eating itself - particularly regarding a 2nd referendum
#2: The two ancien regimes - the UK establishment and the EU - are far from faultless for the mess we're currently in. People wanted real change but:

"We should be very careful about sweeping generalisations about why the 52% voted Leave. Or indeed why the 48% voted Remain. "
#3: Brexit revolutionaries want fundamental change in structures at home and abroad. But failing to engage with EU's reality has hurt.

"The EU has been boiling the UK frog ever since. On process, sequencing,
substance, there has been movement only one way"

Sir Ivan Rogers has made another substantial intervention into the #Brexit debate.

And he makes a very clever argument as to why EU should compromise over Ireland border/Future Relationship. Though frets that it this is not the likely course. 1/Thread

First point is this speech is a plague on both houses - remainers and brexiteers - and a call for analysis based on what is possible, not on wishful thinking.

That will always lead to charges of 'defeatism', but while Rogers may be an Eeyore, he knows too much to be ignored /2
