My highschool did a big slideshow at graduation showing who was going to what colleges. anyone not making it into a 4 year university was put on a massive slide, 'joining the workforce'
not carpentry, not electrictian, not plumbing, joining the workforce.
There were entire assignments about researching colleges. We had to meet with advisers to go over college resumes and applications. They structured our classes and schedules around, 'this is what its like to go to college classes'
'oh, there's no veneer around manual labor' Motherfucker, what generation do you think is in amazon warehouses working 60 hours a week walking a half marathon every night picking your wife's dildos and your kids kindles off the racks to get them shipped to you in 24 hours?
Those are millennials. Millennials who were not even told about trade schools or the like. And now, AFTER we already graduated and walked into a clusterfuck recession, you say, 'oh, well, trade skills are important too' ITS TOO LATE.
Those fuckoff huge student loans, the shit pay that for most millennial households is at poverty level, do you know the effect that has?
It means their credit scores are DOGSHIT.
