Ah. I get it now. This Shultz/Schmidt duo has been in the works for awhile now.

August 2018: Schmidt’s moves coincided with Shultz's announcement of his retirement from Starbucks, effective June 26.

Really wish someone could corroborate this old @vanityfair article that has Schmidt in Ukraine working on the pro-Yanukovich side.

As in the Manafort "I love ostrich jackets" Yanukovich.

McCabe: Mueller sat behind his desk. He started by asking me questions about the Zazi case. Then he turned to the matter at hand.
2/ McCabe: I had not been aware of this study. I didn’t know what the recommendations were. This was not something I had much experience with.
3/ McCabe: After all this, Mueller asked, Is there anything else you would like to tell me? I thought I saw an opening and tried to take it. I said, "Sir, I’ll do whatever you want me to do. But if you’re asking my preference, what I would like to do is work counterterrorism."

Short Thread/This review on McCabe's new book offers a KEY point for those of us who haven't had the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the book: there are TWO things McCabe speaks about in the @60Minutes interview but are NOT in the book.

McCabe, in the interview, speaks about 1) top Justice Dept officials discussing the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office; and 2) confirms a NYTimes report that Rosenstein, offered to wear a wire during his meetings with Trump.

Both of these stories are NOT in the book.
The author of the book review found this frustrating.
