Just came out of "They Shall Not Grow Old"

Speechless

If you have a chance to see it, do it.

Absolutely speechless.
Peter Jackson and his crew did the due diligence needed for historians to appreciate this film, and I definitely appreciate it. It felt like a gift...after studying and studying the First World War, to suddenly have it presented in such a real way...just unbelievable.
Much like what @marinamaral2 does with colorizing photographs, Peter Jackson has done with "They Shall Not Grow Old. It removes the black and white filter from history and presents it as it was: reality. With people. People like us. And then it doesn't seem so remote.
So yeah. Go see it. The documentary commentary after is quite good as well.

Basically, this thing was good enough to allow me to forgive Peter Jackson for the Lord of the Rings, and almost enough to absolve him of what he did to The Hobbit. Mostly.
The name, by the way, comes from the "Ode of Remembrance" by Laurence Binyon, written in 1914:

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them"
