The 'revelations' were first published in the Mail on Sunday by David Rose. A journalist somewhat over-familiar with IPSO corrections and with a history of publishing climate science denial desmog.co.uk/david-rose
The article was quickly picked up by far-right commentator James Delingpole for @BreitbartNews, who rejoiced not because it showed some ethical failing, but because he hates windfarms.

Then of course @mattwridley weighed in on Twitter and for The Times, calling on Gummer to "come clean". This is despite the fact Ridley was censured by the House of Lords for failing to declare his coal interests in an Energy Bill debate publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld201314/ld…
Dominic Lawson also said his piece in the Daily Mail. He is the son of the founder of the UK's main climate science denial campaign group, Nigel Lawson desmog.co.uk/nigel-lawson
Which doesn't seem coincidental. In fact, lots of these people have ties to the climate science denying @thegwpfcom

Rose’s article quotes Labour MP Graham Stringer (desmog.co.uk/graham-stringer), who is a GWPF trustee. Matt Ridley (desmog.co.uk/matt-ridley) likewise is sits on the GWPF’s advisory board. Rose himself has described the GWPF as a “friend”.
So, as Mike says, whatever the truth behind this story, those frothing at the mouth with moral indignation have a clear agenda, and aren't exactly squeaky-clean themselves.

A bunch of newspapers and media outlets have today splashed that the #Gatwick disruption could be the fault of an "eco warrior".

First, to give benefit of the doubt, the police have said "one line of enquiry" is that this is the work of someone involved in environmental activism. The police have also said it is one of "several lines of enquiry".

Fine, report those two bits of information.
But DON'T put as your headline splash that "eco-warriors" or "environmental protestors" are at fault/suspected of/have been blamed for this, as @thetimes @Telegraph and @TheSun all have.

You must immediately say "No, we understand all observed warming is now human caused, overwhelming any natural changes."

You're confusing "weather" and "climate." The world as a whole is warming. One cold day in one place doesn't disprove global climate science.

Scientists are once again warning about #climate armageddon. Thousands vetted the best science out there. More extinction, death and disease is in store if we don't act fast.

But I think we should focus on something uncomfortable: for many people, this is meaningless. /1
Let’s be clear: the IPCC report is a tour de force. Over 90 scientists spent years writing it, based on over 6,000 peer reviews. It says the planetary warming ALREADY caused “will persist for centuries to millennia.” It says we’re not acting fast enough to cut pollution. /2
The report adds to the vast global scientific consensus, based on an overwhelming body of evidence, that we’re pushing the planet into DANGEROUS and destructive warming conditions, by burning fossil fuels at industrial scales, and dumping carbon pollution into the air. /3

Make no mistake, what @MedicineNet did here is NOT medicine or science, it is misogynistic gaslighting of women based on trans ideology. As you can see, men are still defined by their bodies. Women are erased by inclusion of males with "gender identity" issues.

Short thread.
1. I didn't realize how badly Trump has eviscerated access to federal #climate data, so I went and looked at the USGS site.
2. In December, there were 5,932 climate science items linked there (9 were just pictures). Today there are 416 and 292 are just pictures.
3. In December 2016, 320 of those items were links to #climate data. Today, 0 links to data. 5,271 were web links. Now, 0 web links.
