Add a little more butter(or oil) to pan. Sautee meat (or mushrooms) at high heat to sear all edges of quarter sized chunks. Salt/pepper and add light sprinkle of cumen as it cooks.
Rinse brussel sprouts, carrots and potatoes.

Take Guiness and fill pot until it slightly covers all stew ingredients.
Stir together with a teaspoon of red pepper flakes and tablespoon of basil.

Cook on medium covered for 3-4 hours Stirring occasionally.
At the 4 hour mark, add 2 bay leaves and 3/4 cup of frozen peas. And 3-4 large dolups of Whiskey. I prefer Tullamore Dew or Jamison, but a nice Peaty Scotch works wonders too.

Stop cooking when proper taste/thickness reached.

Totally forgot a step! When you are sauteing things at the beginning add a spoonful of minced garlic to both rounds of the sautee! Emergency update!
