Maybe it’s just a remarkable coincidence. But what is the explanation for why this particular US Attorney, based in California so far away, with no link to any part of the case? Is there any rationale? Whitaker buddy?
3/ Just to be clear: The Eastern District of California is very large geographically. It is based in Sacramento. But any Republican Congressman is going to have close contacts with a Republican US Atty. Here's a map of EDCA: usmarshals.gov/district/ca-e/…
4/ It looks like there are only 4 GOP congressmen in EDCA (Greg Scott's district):

This doesn't mean Nunes and McCarthy planted Scott w/ Whitaker. But it would be unusual if Scott didn't have contacts with them.

5/ It’s unclear what to make of this. Hard to imagine Mueller’s team briefing anyone they didn’t trust (tho Whitaker can call shots.
Some suggested that @DevinNunes may be a subject/target. Possible. Some suggest Scott was brought in to assist Whitaker, who obviously needed help.

6/ Word is that Scott has a good reputation. Whitaker seemed scared-wisely- to do anything to get himself deeper into trouble by actively intervening. Scott is surely smarter and wiser. So maybe it is just a coincidence, but the Dems need to do better asking follow-up questions.
