I know someone that was picked up for wandering during the 2007 elections but was quickly bailed by his folks, he saw some of the people picked with him that weren’t so lucky to be bailed paraded as election thugs the next day in the news..
Imagine if they were shot at sight..

In Nigeria, security forces especially the police are looking for these opportunities to overdo..
They were looking for yahoo boys; they started raiding cyber cafes,stopping young boys in cars,buses & on bikes to harass them, checking phones & laptops

They were looking for armed robbers & sars became a menace.
Cultists, they started arresting people with dreads, tattoos & those who wear ripped jeans.

What do we think will happen when the commander in chief tells them to be ruthless & those who commit a crime (that has an already established punishment which isn’t death) do so at the expense of their lives?? It’s totally wrong in my opinion

Another thing is ballot snatching happens mostly in areas where security operatives mostly decide to turn a blind eye, someone trying to capture this illegality backed by some rogue security personnel can be shot & accused of being an election thug..

There’s a punishment for people who disrupt elections, let anyone who is arrested be prosecuted without pity.After the elections, we can even make the punishment more severe if we like but let’s not encourage this one
