Saw an injured bird on the beach. Called @USFWS because I know nothing about birds. They let me speak with a biologist who helped me ID the bird as a Grebe, and they gave me the number of a local wildlife rescue org. Thank you @USFWSPacific!!! #GovernmentIsGood 
Called the wildlife rescue org and they told me what to do. I took off my jacket & wrapped it around the bird & carried it to a place where I could put him in a box. He’s kind of an asshole, but that’s probably bec he’s in pain. I think something is wrong with his leg.
A volunteer from the rescue org is going to pick him up soon. I need to wash the bird cooties off my jacket.
