Daily Ecommerce Tips!

Every day I'm going to give a little tip about Ecom, from what I've learned over the past few years.

Hope you enjoy!
Day 1 - 2/26

When you are testing new products make sure to remain objective throughout the process.

Never assume your products will convert until they do.

Which is why you never want to spend too much time/money on a website/product pics/inventory, etc.
Day 2 - 2/27

Stop doing Free plus shipping stores!

The people who are adding your product in the cart and not purchasing are window shoppers, and will never purchase from you.

I guarantee you have a better chance of creating a successful store if you have a normal price model!
Day 3 - 2/28

Looking for a new way to find products?

Install Turbo Ad Finder on Google Chrome and it will ONLY show ads on your Facebook News Feed.

Click on a bunch of ads in a niche you want to get into and then you'll start seeing a ton of ads on your TL.

Happy Hunting!
Day 4 - 3/1

If you are not testing different prices for your ecom product, you are losing money.

One of my clients recently increased their price by $3 and had no change to their conversion rate w/ $3k daily budget on FB.

Make sure to test your prices, don't be afraid.
Day 5 - 3/2

When trying to create a successful store you need to remember to take a well-balanced approach.

FB Ads aren't magic, they can't make up for an awful website.

Make sure to allocate spend to the entire site/biz to ensure the best chance for success.
Day 6 - 3/3

One way to improve your profitability on your online store is by increasing your average order value.

You can do this by using automatic discounts on @Shopify like "buy one get 50% off".

If you haven't tested this feature out, it could be a game changer for you.
Day 7 - 3/4

Having a good conversion rate on your store is a must if you want to have a chance of seeing success.

One Shopify app that I've seen help do that is the Sticky Add To Cart.

It makes the Add to Cart CTA, visible at all times on product pages.

More ATCs = More $$$
Day 8 - 3/5

Love them or hate them, countdown timers work because urgency sells.

It does not make sense for every store, but when added to any product page I've worked on I have seen an increase in the store's CVR.

Another thing you guys need to be testing ⏳
Day 9 - 3/6

Whenever I give you a tip about FB ads/ecom, don't automatically take my word for it.

Test it and let the data decide whether it works.

My suggestions/tips are not going to work for everyone because everyone is in a different spot.

Follow the data!
Day 10 - 3/7

Adding reviews to your product page is a great way to help instill more trust in potential customers.

If you are looking for an app to use, @Shopify has a free review app called Product Reviews.

Super easy to add reviews manually or import them in.
Day 11 - 3/8

When you are starting out with ecom, failure is an important part of the process.

All of the stores that failed when I first started out, helped me learn the most about what converts and what does not.

Failure will happen, just make sure to grow from it.
Day 12 - 3/9

When you purchase an Instagram shoutout you need to make sure you are fully taking advantage of all of the engagement.

Respond to every comment and follow up with anyone who showed interest.

I guarantee you'll get more sales!
Day 13 - 3/10

Creating trust between your store and potential customers is essential.

Make sure you have some sort of money back guaranteed pic/policy on your site.

It always helps conversion and the majority of the time less than 1 percent of your customers end up using it.
Day 14 - 3/11

Selling inexpensive products with FB ads can be difficult to maintain a positive ROAS.

One thing that has worked well for me is bundling products.

This allows you to 1) Increase your AOV 2) Sustain a positive ROAS much easier.
Day 15 - 3/12

Having a website that loads fast is really important to make sure you don't lose out on sales.

The biggest thing I see that people do that slows their site down is having gifs on their product page.

This will make your site load slower and decrease your CVR.
Day 16 - 3/13

If you are running ads to multiple countries it's imperative that you are running some sort of currency converter.

Having the currency automatically show up as each user's local currency is fantastic for your overall CVR.

Better CVR = More Purchases 🤑
Day 17 - 3/14

I love FB ads for everything it's allowed me to do but days like yesterday really show me how dependent I am on it as a traffic source.

Make sure you guys are using other channels to diversify your traffic and sales.

Email is my preferred choice after FB.
Day 18 - 3/15

Something I just started using in order to create a test store is Zipify.

Wish I would have started using it earlier, makes it much easier to get things set up and helps increase conversions.

Highly recommend checking it out!
Day 19 - 3/16

Make sure you are following up with people who abandon their cart, not just through email.

Test different FB messenger and text messenger retargeting apps that send automated messages to users

Much easier to close them than someone who's never been to your site.
Day 20 - 3/17

When you are trying to improve your site or your FB ads, make sure you aren't changing a ton of things at once.

It'll make it harder to know exactly what effect each change had.

Test less at one time so you can better understand the results.
Day 21 - 2/18

Struggling to come up with a new niche/product?

Take a few minutes and search around awesomestufftobuy.com

It always helps me get some ideas going and start thinking about potential products I could sell.
Day 22 - 3/19

If you are running a store that only has one product why do you still have a cart page?

Get an app that allows you to skip the cart page and go straight to checkout.

Take out the extra step in the funnel, should help your cvr.
Day 23 - 3/20

If you decide to dropship from Aliexpress it's important that you be upfront about it.

Disclosing your actual shipping times will help prevent customers from freaking out on you.

Try offering a discount/gift for their troubles to show them you care.
Day 24 - 3/21

When I first started in ecom, it took me so long to get tests going because I wanted it to be perfect.

Now, I do the bare minimum to get the product/store looking good enough for the test.

I'm able to test faster which increases my chances of finding a winner.
Day 25 - 3/22

When you are looking for videos or getting them made make sure they are 4:3.

It's the best size for video creatives for 2 reasons:

1) Works on both FB and IG Newsfeed
2) Takes up the most space, which makes it harder to ignore = better cpc/ctr
Day 26 - 3/23

Best Practice for Carousel Ads:

1) If you are manually adding creatives make sure you select the option where FB will show your best performing cards first.

2) If your carousel is pulling from a product set make sure it's set to show the cards dynamically.
Day 27 - 3/24

An easy way to increase your CVR is making your add to cart button on the product page shake.

Super easy to add through an app and it helps grab the potential customer's attention.

I've seen slight increases in CVR when it was added to stores I work on.
Day 28 - 3/25

Never get complacent with your performance on your ecom store because for most of you it won't last.

It's the hard truth.

Why? Because you aren't testing enough.

You should always be testing no matter if you have a 1 or 5 ROAS.
Day 29 - 3/26

Make sure you are taking advantage of your 'Thank You' page on your ecom store.

Every person who purchases something on your site sees the page so it's important you have some sort of up-sell.

If not you are losing out on free money.
Day 30 - 3/27

When I start a new ecom store and begin running ads I always start with my ad sets optimized for purchases.

FB knows how to find people who have a higher probability of purchasing.

Stop getting in FB’s way and let them do what they do best.
