If you run video view campaigns on FB or are thinking about it you should know FB has changed it's default optimization for them.

The new default going forward will be ThruPlay optimization.

You will only pay when someone watches your entire video or 15 seconds of it.
If you have any video view campaigns that are currently running that are optimized for 10 second views, make sure to switch them over to ThruPlay optimization soon.

On July 31 FB will pause any video view campaign that has 10 second views as it's optimization.
The ThruPlay optimization should have the same or even better performance than the 10 second view optimization so do not worry.

Did you know that FB has a feature that allows you to show your ads to people who are or may be planning to travel?

This feature is called Trip Consideration.

I have a few businesses in the travel niche I work with, that this feature works very well with.
So, when you use the Trip Consideration feature you are basically getting your ads shown to people who have been showing signs that they could be taking a trip in the near future.

Things like visiting travel sites without actually purchasing anything (FB can see everything 😬).
This does make it much easier especially for people like me in order to find potential customers for the businesses I work with.

Typically I will turn on the Trip Consideration feature and just include the typical demographic of the customer.

Something a lot of people selling through Facebook Ads don't realize is that FB sends out surveys to people after they purchase from you.

These are called Customer Feedback Surveys.

I will explain the process and how it may effect your store below ⬇️
To ensure the customer has received their product FB will wait a few weeks until sending the survey.

The survey will show up on the user's timeline and typically just ask one basic question.

Something along the lines of "How satisfied are you with your purchase?"
After enough users fill out the survey FB will give you a Customer Feedback Score.

This score ranges from 0-5 and is only associated with the FB page you are running the ads with.

If your page's score is below a 2 there are two ways you can be penalized.

If you guys are running Facebook Ads and you haven't started to at least test out CBO campaigns you need to start.

Soon CBO will be the standard and you will have to use them, so it's better you start learning now.

Here are 2 reason why I like CBO's better 👇
1. Consistency

When you use a CBO Facebook allocates spend to the ad sets/ads that has the highest probability of converting at that specific time.

Because of this the ad sets/ads that get the most amount of spend rotate depending on their performance.
This has lead to my accounts to have less really poor days.

Obviously, it's not perfect but I definitely have seen better results using it compared to using traditional ad sets.

I love how the media is characterizing the walk-back of their knee-jerk condemnation of high school kids as privileged, racist, insensitive hooligans as a result of "new information" or "emerging facts" or "clarifying accounts" from eyewitnesses. We were all eyewitnesses.
The story didn't need to be written at all - we saw it. Nothing that the media reported actually happened - not in the abstract, I-wonder-if-they're-exaggerating-a-bit sense, but in the we-all-watched-it-together-and-you-keep-saying-they-chanted-...
build-a-wall sense. There is nothing "new" that changed the media's characterization. They want to play this as if they simply reported what happened in the initial video, but after faithfully reporting it out, they discovered a narrative that didn't initially exist.

As feared the Japanese government is forcing AirBnB to cancel tens of thousands of fully booked and paid reservations. This is the worst possible way the government could have dealt with this issue. 1/
The law was only passed in March, but a hard June 15 deadline gave hosts only a few months to get fully licensed and registered before reservations would start getting canceled. 2/
The registration process is incredibly onerous, requiring over a *dozen* official documents from multiple government agencies, several of which are by law not available to foreigners, even if they own homes in Japan. 3/

#New PA cong. map increases D chance of winning the House majority by 4%. They only need a 6.8% generic ballot margin now (down from 7.7) to be favored.

Diff. will be closer to 10% in Nov when uncertainty from polls is ⬇️. Redraw is a very big deal.

One major reason the new PA map is such a big gain for Democrats is that it solidifies, not just tips, PA districts in Philly burbs. Also creates one additional vulnerable R district. (Easily seen in this map made by @JMilesColeman)
My forecasting model will have new PA map in the near future. This is not just a simple switch; it’s a coding redesign, restructuring of input, & drawing new geographic files. Takes a while (for me, a student).

THREAD: What is the cell phone tracking case considered by the Supreme Court today about? Why does it matter?
1/ Today the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case called Carpenter v. United States. The issue in the case was whether the government could obtained something called "historical cell site records" without a search warrant.
2/ Historical cell site records are records that are kept by the cell phone company of the cell towers that your phone communicates with when you make phone calls. So it provides limited, but useful, location information about the person using the phone.
