On the very day Pell's own lawyer tries - weirdly - to play down the assault as a “plain vanilla sexual penetration case where the child is not actively participating”. Thereby agreeing it happened. But people like @holysmoke are in deep denial. 
Even if they couldn't give a damn about Pell's victims, and the many other victims of Catholic priests whose testimony he stifled, people like @holysmoke should surely be able to see that their attempts to dismiss it all do the Catholic Church far more harm than good.
If ever there were a time for honesty and openness, truth and reflection, this is surely it.
