Sir Ivan Rogers kicks off by saying UK-EU trade negotiations are the first he can think of in history in which 2 sides seek "to get further apart"

He says that every other trade negotiation is about "converging and dismantling barriers to trade" — but Brexit is the opposite
Rogers says that people around Theresa May at the start of the Article 50 process "didn't know very much about European Councils or that much about the EU"

2) The special-purpose depository institution (SPDI) is esp impt. It helps solve the #blockchain sector's prob of difficulty accessing basic US$-only #bank accounts, which v few banks offer to start-ups. Many horror stories of start-ups shutting down bc banks closed their accts
3) US businesses that lose their bank accts go out of biz (for ex. IRS requires withholding taxes to be paid electronically via a bank acct). It’s critical to success of #blockchain sector that more than just a few banks serve industry (for basic checking/payroll/cash mgmt accts)

This is Hebron in the West Bank.
Hebron is the home of one of Islam's holy sites, the Ibrahimi Mosque.
It also happens to be a Jewish holy site named after Abraham as well.
