Hello from the federal courthouse in Alexandria, where Paul Manafort is due at 3:30pm for sentencing. See: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…

Just went inside to check the scene (it's quiet), and the security guard goes, "Hey! Long time no see!" He shakes my hand. "It must be that day."
As you may recall from Manafort's trial this summer in Virginia, you cannot bring any electronics into the courthouse, so no live-tweeting from today's 3:30pm sentencing. In the meantime:

- What Manafort says: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
NOW: Paul Manafort has been sentenced to 47 months in prison in his Virginia case. BUT, with credit for time served (about nine months), it's really a sentence of about 38 months, or just over three years buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
Judge T.S. Ellis III said he was "surprised" that when Manafort addressed the court, he didn't express regret for what he'd done: "In other words, you didn't say, 'I really, really regret not doing what the law requires" buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
Manafort remained emotionless as his sentence was announced, he looked ahead and his expression did not change. His statement to the court was also free of emotion, he delivered it in a flat tone buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
Manafort told the judge: "To say that I feel humiliated and ashamed would be a gross understatement." He expressed regret for what the case had done to his family, said his actions were why he was here, and asked for compassion buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
Manafort's lawyer Kevin Downing briefly addressed reporters outside the courthouse. He said Manafort had accepted responsibility, and "most importantly... there is absolutely no evidence that Paul Manafort was involved in any collusion"
Everything you need to know about what went down at Paul Manafort's sentencing hearing today: What the judge said, what the lawyers said, what Manafort said, what happened, and what happens next buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
One down, one to go: Paul Manafort will serve at least three years in prison, but his legal fight isn't over yet buzzfeed.com/zoetillman/pau…
Will the judge in Manafort's DC case stack her sentence next week on top of the 47 months (really 38 months, given credit for time-served) he got today? Manafort's laywers are concerned about that buzzfeed.com/zoetillman/pau…
