The Republican President called himself a nationalist and railed against “globalism” and has repeatedly broadcast neo Nazi memes and hired neo Nazi advisors and defended the Charlottesville Nazis and Republicans love him but otherwise yeah good point
Republicans have learned to ape the outward signs of civil rights movements to try to position themselves as oppressed parties, all in service of being able to continue profiting from systemic oppression, and it’s the most grotesque thing imaginable.
Putting all the spin aside, when it comes down to it, there’s just one party with members who know they can’t afford to vote against even the most watered-down generalized statements condemning bigotry.
