And we’re off! Digital Unite running workshop on supporting successful digital transformation and the Digital Champions Network - loads of great minds in the room! #OneDigital
Digital Unite have been in the digital inclusion world for 22 years - if you want digital transformation you need to encourage learning within your organisation - employee led learning is at the heart
The Digital Champions Network is a learning ecosystem for digital champions. CPD and Mozilla Badge accreditation is built in as are specialist designed courses and support resources #OneDigital @digitalunite
The Digital Champions Network has a range of project management and reporting tools. @digitalunite #OneDigital
How members use the network - 77% join @digitalunite at an early stage of their digital maturity and transformation plan #OneDigital
Around 50% of digital champions using the network are employees - it’s not all volunteers. Employees are the change makers! #OneDigital @digitalunite
“How do you make a new course?” - it takes some investment but it’s usually a co-design process. For example @wfcouncil created a course called ‘using your role to help people get online’. And some are self built. #OneDigital
“How much content is technical and how much cultural?” - it’s all about the soft skills and sector / group specific. Soft skills learning are supported by about 500 “how to” guides. @digitalunite #OneDigital
“Tech wizards don’t always make the best digital champions” @Kathy__Valdes - patience and people skills are top of the list. @digitalunite #OneDigital
The DCN also hosts a Forum for digital champions to chat to each other and they’ve got access to Mentors too @digitalunite #OneDigital
“What’s the real value of joining the Network rather than doing it yourself?” - the DCN can keep the motivation of Champion approaches going - it keeps projects alive when there’s a community and peers to lean on - partic. from other areas of expertise. @digitalunite #OneDigital
Some debate around the value of specialist courses on the DCN. Currently not a health module on there but there’s some conversations with NHS - there’s a health resources area on the DCN but space for more in future @digitalunite #OneDigital
Over to you - questions from the group... #OneDigital
@DorsetCC here at the session talking about the embedded digital champion model in #Dorset - how can ppl be trained potentially in employee roles - how can we manage this? It’s about having link key people in team leader / manager role to keep teams engaged
@digitalunite #OneDigital - how to keep digital Hamptons engaged? Reward and recognition works. This approval needs to come from the champion’s host organisation. Helping champions celebrate success and recognise impact is also important
“Everyone’s got an app these days” how do we keep things up to date?
“Digital Champions are really Learning Champions or Change Champions at the end of the day” #OneDigital @digitalunite
@AtifChoudhury: “additive technology is ubiquitous to most but revolutionary to many” @digitalunite #OneDigital
“Can you match make people needs and Digital Champions” - it’s possible but needs organisations to have some level of management control on the Champion resource. #OneDigital @digitalunite
“How do we make digital inclusion everybody’s business?” - got to get it in organisational HR process. @digitalunite #OneDigital
