I feel like people should pay more attention to how the NZ police have responded to the massacre, which is by basically trying to prevent religious or ethnic minorities in NZ from gathering in any sense at all

Mosques have been ordered to remain closed until further notice, whatever that means. All NZ synagogues closed up in solidarity and then were also ordered to remain shut (with Purim right around the corner!!!)

Polyfest has been cancelled, and vigils and protests and such keep being cancelled due to police presence or the threat thereof

Oh, right. Remembered another one. Sikh temples also ordered to close down "until further notice"

I haven't heard anything about any churches receiving such instructions, but if any have I would put good money on it being ones that are predominantly Maori or Samoan

Given how complicit the NZ cops are in just every shitty bigoted aspect of this country, this feels very suspect to me. Most generous assessment I could offer is that they don't want minorities to gather enough to risk us embarrassing the country by getting massacred again.
