Here is the Thread I promised on how a proper CV should look

Kindly RT
1. Your CV should start with your name boldly written. Your name should be the first thing on your CV, the use of Curriculum Vitae as the heading of your CV is no longer in use. PLEASE don't write your name in the header section of a word document
This is because an ATS may not read information written in both the header and footer section. If you want your name to be very high on your CV page just change the page formatting. DON"T WRITE YOUR NAME ON THE HEADER SECTION
2. Your contact information should come directly under your name. By contact details, I mean address, email and phone number (Linkedin if you have, you should anyway). Your address can just be your city and state no need having your full home address.
Also, if you are applying for a job outside your current location, PLEASE leave your address completely out it may be a disadvantage. Your email must be professional, stop using email like obi4god@gmail.com or pretyJoy@gmail.com for professional purpose. Such should be personal
3. Your career objective or professional summary should come next. Don't confuse the 2, they are very different. A career objective is mostly used by those without experience, or transitioning to a different profession where they don't have experience yet.
If you are an experienced professional, a professional summary is what you should have. Generally, this section should cover Who you are, what you have done, and what are you bringing. I wrote an article on this which you can read on furnishconsult.com/2019/01/27/per…
4. The type of CV you are writing should determine what comes next. Want to know about the different types of CV? I got you covered.
furnishconsult.com/2019/02/03/und…
Generally, I work more with a combination CV, but I'm not saying you must. There is no one size fits all in a CV. Check the types of CV and determine which would work best for you. My recommendation here is based on a combination CV
5. Your skill set should come after your career objective/ summary. How you display this is determined by what type of CV you are writing. While a Functional CV will require you to provide details on these skills, the other CV types allow you to just list them.
For more information on this, check the link below. If you would still need a visual example, let me know. Make sure you mention skills that are relevant to what you are applying for. Don't have a section for skills and computer skills separately. furnishconsult.com/2019/01/29/top…
6. Make sure all this information listed from your name to your skills, doesn't occupy more than half of your front page, except you are using a Functional CV. This is very important to pass the Half Page evaluation rule on a CV.
7. Your work experience should come after your skills. List them in reverse chronological order (The most recent should come first). You should include your Employer, position held and relevant dates. It is very importantar that you list achievements and key responsibilities.
PLEASE don't go and copy the job description from a job advert and bring here o. Represent your responsibilities using key action verbs that would show more action. You don't have to list all your previous experience. List those that are relevant to what you are applying for
Stop having generic things like "Reply email from customers" consider things like "Consistently replied emails from customers, while escalating where necessary with a high level of accuracy". This is where you sell yourself; so, be creative be your job responsibilities
8. Your education can now come after your work experience. There are instances where your education can come before your work experience if you are currently out of employment and you are enrolled in an academic program.
One common mistake I see a lot is having "Schools Attended" and "Qualification and Dates" as two different sections. This is very wrong. have just one section "Education". List the schools alongside their dates and your qualification.
DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT add your class of degree if it's not a First-class or Second-class upper result. Don't use your hand to shoot yourself, searching for a job is already difficult on its own, so, don't make it harder for yourself.
Any school information that is over 10 years on your CV is only eating up space except it is directly relevant to the job you are applying for. That said, your primary education should not even be on your CV, except it is required.
9. Other sections such as Training, Certification, Professional bodies can come after your education. Also, if you MUST have your personal details on your CV, it should come after your Certifications.
10. You can add hobbies and interest but let it be things that are relevant. I don't see why someone applying for Audit position will have dancing as his hobby. Your hobbies can come in handy in an interview. They can be used as "Icebreaker".
11. leave your referees out of your CV. It should be available on request. This is because different positions would require different referees
12. Use fonts that are professional, please. I often recommend New Times Roman and Calibri (Favorite). Keep your font size to within 11-12 and for your header 14-16. Your CV should not exceed 2 pages except where extremely necessary.
The 2 pages don't apply to those in the education line where a lot of research and publication is expected. Always read the requirements of an employer since they could have a guideline as to how they want your CV sent.
If you follow these to a fault, you should have no problem. Have any question? Please ask

Remember to Retweet, this may come in handy for someone on your TL
