Given that a school is the worst place to learn about life, my alternate form of getting more intelligent is reading. Books, reports, blog posts, case studies & stuff.

After spending many hours on these materials, I've noticed a pattern. (Thread)
Most people who write these materials write them to benefit themselves than the people they write for...

An author has a simple idea; one that could fit into a 20mins podcast episode. But No!!!

"Let's do it in a book", they say.
Once you get through the first chapters, everything becomes a boring lecture or worst, a proof of the author's familiarity with the topic.

In the writer's bio, "Published Author of ..."
What if those kinds of authors could be less romantic & be more self-aware. What if they did a tweet first, then a blog post, then a podcast, then an ebook, and then a real book. (@naval has no book yet!)

Much like taking a lean approach to documenting learnings.
It could take more time to be an author, but then it would ensure there are few authors (a great thing), fewer books (a superb thing), and more practical people.

I can't also fail to thank people who write down their experience. It's more like I get to live two lives.
A huge thanks to the awesome @naval for blowing this up. Please take some time to check out #wearenigeriancreatives.
