I grew up in Miami watching many elderly Holocaust survivors scrape by on cat food and refugees from Cuba come with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Their progeny is living proof of American prosperity.

A quick search of Charlotte’s bio shows how tone deaf she is.

I also grew up with people who owned huge chunks of Miami Beach real estate, several of The Bee Gees mansions a five minute walk from my house, and other obscenely wealthy people.

These people don’t negate the definition of prosperity of others. It just makes you sound jealous

It seems that Charlotte’s and AOC’s main beef is that some people experience more prosperity than others. In a capitalist society, everyone DOES have the opportunity to strive for “their definition” of the American dream.

This resentment they exhibit isn’t a good look.

One of the saddest thing about the participation trophy generation is that they’ll never look back w/sentimental sweetness at this period in their lives. When your kids are grown, & you’ve worked your entire life for the luxuries you’ve earned, you reminisce about the salad years

They expect to reach the apex spontaneously, as if somehow, they are “special.” No one “deserves”a “fast pass.”
A life well lived is beautifully difficult and hard-earned.

THAT is the human condition. THAT is the fabric of our memories and our history.
