This is a useful thread from @faisalislam on Curtice’s analysis of polls to rebut the laughably inaccurate claim by MPs such as @bernardjenkin that polls favour leave

In the month up to the ref 21 favoured Leave, 19 Remain

In the last year they have settled steadily on Remain.
2/. “There hasn’t been a single poll in almost a year now with Leave lead.

70 polls since GE17 show only two (+1) leads, 5 Ties, 63 Remain leads, recent avg plus 7/8 remain.”

It is politically foolhardy to proceed to Brexit with so many pointers (& evidence for PI) to Remain.
3/. I can hear the judge pointing to this analysis and asking both May and Corbyn and all ministers (both sides of the house).

“This was the polling data.
You had access to it?
Yet you refused to give the public an opportunity to think and vote again?
On an advisory ref. Why?”

First, to quote the great Ann Coulter, it's laughable to think that any Founder, Framer or Amender of the Constitution intended for American citizenship to be the prize in a game of Red Rover with the Border Patrol. We're a nation of laws, after all.
Second, #14Amendment was one of three emancipation-related amendments to the #Constitution, designed to grant citizenship to former slaves and their children. The congressional record shows nobody believed 600,000 Americans died to give Congress the chance to open the borders.

1/ The Israeli govt is committing crimes against humanity. Simultaneously, anti-semitism is on the rise on the racist U.S. right. Anti-semitism also flares up on the left, as many conflate Jewish ppl w/ Israel. So, I wld like to share some data on the beliefs of Jewish Americans.
2/ All of this data is from a 2013 Pew Opinion Poll. The terminology in the poll was carefully selected, so I will use that terminology: "Jews by religion" to denote Jewish Americans who are religious. "Jewish by no-religion" to denote Jewish Americans who are not religious.
3/ So, let's get down to some of the data.

*89*% of Jewish Americans believe being *strongly* critical of the Israel govt is *compatible* w/ being Jewish.

This includes 88% of Jews-by-religion.

I feel like driving up some controversy, so how about a thread of Hot Takes/Unpopular Opinions! You know the drill, one like = one take/opinion.

Start easy: the blunt awkwardness/cringe of 'Blurryface' is the point of taking the piss out of Tyler. I stand by my light 9/10.
2. I don't hate Nickelback's 'Dark Horse' - it's easily a record for them at their most tasteless, but the frat-bro swagger of it helps some of their better hooks.
3. 'Fireflies' by Owl City is a genuinely terrific song that captures precocious, starry-eyed wonderment better than few others in the 2000s.

It is SPECTACULARLY lame, but that's why it works.
