Are you folks ready for the 2019 Target Field Concessions Price Analysis #TargetFieldFood? If no, please mute #TargetFieldFood because here it comes …
Reminder: the #TargetFieldFood price spreadsheet was created for those who pay for concessions, unlike media folks who get free feedbags. I believe fans who fork over their hard-earned dough care about prices. I also chart dropped items, which write-ups rarely mention.
(Also this year the Twins released their prices AFTER they got the free media PR, which, #capitalism, but #ethicsinjournalism. For the record, I’m a 10-year Twins season ticketholder, former media critic & definite cheap-ass, though I like good ballpark food.) #TargetFieldFood
1. #TargetFieldFood headline of the year is well-covered: Twins’ new FAMILY-FRIENDLY menu. It really is! I totally support small portions & cheaper prices; it’s a wallet+waist saving option, even if more per-oz. (Credit: @mspbjHalter) The Twins are late to it but good for them! 
2. What about the prices of the items our #ethicsinjournalism gluttons swallowed yesterday? That 2-foot hot dog tribute to Nelson Cruz, which won’t seem so clever after you eat it OR after he’s traded in July? 27 smackeroonies. Chicken & Waffle Cone? $10.50. #TargetFieldFood
3. Since I know my audience, you want to know BEER PRICES WHAT ABOUT BEER PRICES?? The beer situation has gotten more complex - more options - but the bottom line: beer is 50¢ more in 2019, the Twin’s usual rise. (Red cells = price hikes, amounts in bold.) #TargetFieldFood
4. Let’s go to the go-tos: HOT DOGS & SAUSAGES. Twins’ basic dogs didn’t get pricier in 2019 - yeah - but Kramarczuk’s and the house Polish/Italian/Brats went up 50¢. Vegans also saw flat pricing, but $12.50 per hoo boy! Kids meal pricing also stays the same. #targetfieldfood
5. SANDWICHES & FANCY STUFF. Not many price hikes here! A *lot* of dropped items, at least on the Twins’ web list, including that $59 “Up Against The Wall in the Revolution” Murray’s tenderloin. Not sure why Red Rabbit parm sandwich dropped 50%. #TargetFieldFood
6. FRYERS because you hate your body. Chicken Tenders - one of the best trash foods at #TargetFieldFood - up 50¢. Curds and helmet fries also, but other pricing is stable. The Kramarczuk Kurd-Marczuk is nowhere to be found.
7. THE BASICS: Snacks and Candy. Remember that family-friendly menu (aka the #wellactually menu must credit @PhilMackey). You might resort to it, since popcorn, pretzels, mini-Ds & the GROSSLY overpriced sunflower seeds all went up 50¢. Peanuts & Jacks stable) #TargetFieldFood
8. STUFF FROM COUNTRIES STEVE KING DOESN’T LIKE. Nachos, up 50¢. Barrio stuff stable. Found only one Hot Indian entree (last year there were 3); this might be a web list error; I’ll check it out tomorrow. I threw Italy in here because you never know with Steve. #TargetFieldFood
9. RANDOM STUFF. Cones & other frozen basics up 50¢ except DIPPING DOTS FFS. Soups & salad forecast: stable pricing. Booze; up a bit but you’re a lush. Send Mulder & Scully after State Fair Classics: couldn’t find; I think the new items replace them? #TargetFieldFood
10. DID I DO SODAS I’M OLD: Basics up 50¢; best early-season deal in the house (hot chocolate) stable for the FIFTH SEASON IN A ROW. Credit where credit is due. #TargetFieldFood
11. THINGS I DON’T KNOW ABOUT BUT PERHAPS A PAID REPORTER COULD ASK ABOUT: The little cookies. Other cart stuff. Will I ever get Butcher & Boar rib tips & whiskey in the ballpark again? (#pouroneout) If you have any other thoughts, Qs just reply here. Play ball! #TargetFieldFood
