This vapid misunderstanding of "Democracy" demonstrates why we need better civics classes in school. "Representative democracy" is different than "direct democracy". Britain is a representative democracy.
We don't live in direct democracies because they are bad, horribad, god aweful bad. Brexit demonstrates why. Direct democracies come from ignorant people voting their feelings at the moment.
Moreover, 50.1% voting for a thing does not make it magically right, giving it some patina of moral authority. The concerns fo the 49.9% still matter. That's why we have the Bill of Rights in the U.S., so that 50.1% can't impose a state religion.
FYI: it was a "non-binding" referendum. I'm not sure what part of "non-binding" Pierce Morgan isn't getting.
"Non-binding" means that if the UK can't negotiate a favorable Brexit deal, which appears they can't, then they don't have to Brexit. Most voting for Brexit weren't voting for hard Brexit.
