This is so off the deep end authoritarian I can scarcely believe it, even in these feverish times. The self-declared "Spartan" whose Commons support have been reduced to a ragged band of a few dozen now demands the right to *abolish* voices of everyone else.
Steve Baker wants to suspend the Commons because 95% of its MPs don't like, and won't do, what he wants. And then plunge Britain into the most dramatic economic and legal crisis for generations with *no govt* There is no world in which that is a responsible or democratic attitude
What's really going on here of is that slow learner Baker has finally caught up with the reality, obvious to everyone else ages ago, that smashing May's deal repeatedly wasn't actually going to deliver no deal, despite it being the default. So now he wants to smash Parliament.
Responsible Parliamentarians compromise, persuade, and build consensus. Baker bellows, alienates, and smashes.
