Digging through two generations of space memorabilia (mine and my father's, since he worked on the Apollo program). Most of these things I had forgotten about. 
2/ Here is a flag that flew in the Space Shuttle. I worked on a radio system that went up on this launch so NASA gave the team members these flags after the mission. Super cool, but I forgot I had it in this box 😅
3/ A fan, so we could fan ourselves in the Florida heat watching the Space Shuttle rollout to the launch pad. This was to celebrate getting it ready for flight on a tight schedule. It was high pressure but super rewarding. #teamwork
4/ Every year the NASA Center Director would send each employee a letter on their birthday. They would usually cross out the honorific and write-in your first name. We would say, "Hey look, I got my birthday letter. Let's see if he wrote my name. (Opens envelope) Yep!" 😄
5/ Apparently I got this 30 years ago in 1989, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the Moon. This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary.
6/ This is historic, at least for us NASA geeks 😄 When the NASA Meatball was restored as the agency's logo, replacing the NASA Worm, they sent Meatball patches & pins to the employees. The letter is dated Jun 15, 1993, from veteran astronaut and Center Director Robert Crippen.
7/7 Found a photo of the Console-2 (C2) team in the Firing Room, right after a Space Shuttle launch. I'm near the center. Dave Joyner (in the jacket) and I were the Navigation Aids (Navaids) engineers that launch. C2 also included Mechanisms, Payload Electrical, & Comm.#Neckties
