Competent, committed people recognize competent, committed people. That is why Harris excels at this fundraising stage - bc lots of folks are just talking, but some are committing.
That being said, I still support Harris and Warren equally. I backed Harris with a monthly pledge the day she announced, and gave Warren the same pledge this weekend. Used to be a 3-way with Buttigieg, but he’s not ready for national office.
And if some other candidate rose above on policy and ability to deliver that policy, I’d be open to a shift. But Harris and Warren deserve my early support because they’re both being ignored by a media that prefers to get man crushes.
The only downside I see to a Harris presidency is that she won’t be in the Senate, and she also won’t be the AG pick. But her Senate seat’s relatively safe for Dems, as Warren’s is. Beto and Buttigieg should both go home and do good deeds for their states.
And with either Warren or Harris at the top of the ticket, we’d still have the other in the Senate. (Yes, I think teams of rivals are great, but not those particular two. I’d make a deep track pick for veep that opened an important swing seat.)
