Study after study shows that women still make less than men in the same jobs; that’s why we have to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act. #EqualPayDay
This legislation would strengthen and close loopholes in the Equal Pay Act of 1963 by holding employers accountable for discriminatory practices. #EqualPayDay
It would also end the practice of pay secrecy, easing workers’ ability to individually or jointly challenge pay discrimination, and strengthening the available remedies for wronged employees. #EqualPayDay

This Mother’s Day, I’m thinking of all the moms I’ve met across the Commonwealth these past few months who are struggling to keep up with the high cost of childcare.
I thank them for their unconditional love and care for the children of Pennsylvania and promise to keep fighting for policies to help their families.

Page 2 essentially says that the Trump Administration believes that insurance companies should be able to deny coverage to people if they’re sick. It also says that they should be able to charge people MORE MONEY when they are sick! That is cruel. casey.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…

Every #EqualPayDay I like to educate the fine people of Twitter the difference between the uncontrolled wage gap & the controlled wage gap! Ready?
The uncontrolled wage gap is what you see referenced by feminists. That is $.79 on the dollar. And it is true. The *average* woman makes $.79 to every $1 the *average* man makes.

But this gap does not consider what KIND of job is being worked, how many hours, education, etc.
The controlled wage gap considers factors. Education, hours worked, position held, etc. When all factors are exactly the same, women make $.999999... to every $1 a man makes, which is within the margin of error.

Today is “#EqualPayDay.”

There are a lot of ridiculous holidays—from “International Talk Like a Pirate Day” to “Have a Party With Your Bear Day” to “Bubble Gum Day.”
But “Equal Pay Day” is something worse. It’s a misleading effort designed to make women feel like they’re all, inevitably, being short-changed in their workplaces. That’s not the case.
Here’s the truth:
✅ Wage discrimination is illegal and has been in the U.S. since 1963, when the Equal Pay Act was signed into law.
✅ The 1964 Civil Rights Act also protects women from baseless gender discrimination in the workplace.

Bizarre observation that very few of my followers will understand, but I think it's an interesting thought so I'll share...

Obligatory army service in Switzerland hurts the women's rights movement.
The main thing women are still fighting for is income equality.

Put your opinions about the wage gap aside for a minute and look at what I'm saying through a persuasion-lens...
The wage gap is at best a statistical average - You can't feel the effects of it personally.

But every young man feels the very real effect of being forced into almost a year of serving the government.
