If the answer to any of the above is "no" you'll grasp the importance of EU oversight.
Basically the EU act as a sanity check of last resort. EU laws on things like the environment, workers rights, human rights etc provide a baseline below which the Governments of EU countries cannot go. And it is just that. They are perfectly free to implement tougher standards.
So if you say we're better off outside the EU, you're saying that you trust all future UK governments between now and the end of time to look out for your interests. 🤔
Because what is so easily forgotten in the white heat of Brexit debate is that it won't always be your side who's in power. So why not keep that EU seatbelt fastened against the moment the crazies take the wheel?
And if you're a Leaver reading this, look at the mess the Tories are making of Brexit. Can you look at that and honestly say they're always going to make the right decisions about everything else? What about when Labour's in charge? Isn't it better to have independent protection?
