Because let's face it, scepticism is healthy. But denying reality? That's just dangerous. And the reality of Brexit is that it will leave us poorer and more isolated. There's a mountain of evidence to support that view. So to deny it is to refute reality itself.
And don't come back with nonsense like "but we have record employment". They're not incompatible, just like you can run a bath without a plug. Brexit is the missing plug. There's still water in the bath because the taps are running. But there'd be *more* water with the plug in.
And besides, the jobs figures are massaged every which way to disguise huge underlying weakness. The way the Government now defines employment, people are classed "employed" if they work just 1 hour a week, or even if they work unpaid for family businesses (eg small shop owners).
