Remember how some folks were reminding us months ago that Biden has no idea how to keep his mouth shut? Well...

"AFFIRMATIVE CONSENT LOL." —Joe Biden, April 5, 2019.
There's a throughline here. What he did was okay, because he's a good guy. But he's going to stop, because he's a good guy. But he has nothing to apologize for, because he's a good guy. And he can joke about it, because he's a good guy.
"I'm allowed to say that/do that, because I'm a good guy" is a hell of a drug. A hell of a drug.
And here we are. Biden, after the speech: "I’m not sorry for anything that I have ever done. I have never been disrespectful intentionally to a man or a woman. So that’s not the reputation I’ve had since I was in high school, for God’s sakes."
I'm a good guy, so I can't have done anything wrong, so I have nothing to apologize for. Funny how that principle only applies when a woman says you made her feel weird and gross.
Biden accidentally steps on someone's foot: "I'm so sorry."

Biden accidentally skeeves someone out: "I’m not sorry for any of my intentions. I’m not sorry for anything that I have ever done. I have never been disrespectful intentionally to a man or a woman."

One thing I haven't seen a lot of attention to in discussions of the latest coverage of the Mueller report and pushback against Barr's summary: The sourcing.
The NYT credits their info on the Mueller team's feelings to "government officials and others familiar with their simmering frustrations." nytimes.com/2019/04/03/us/…
The Washington Post credits "people familiar with the matter," and says "members of Mueller’s team have complained to close associates." washingtonpost.com/world/national…

“Norms have changed” can either mean “what used to be okay isn’t okay anymore” or “what was never okay is now acknowledged to not be okay.” Biden is clearly here using the first sense.
Which is, I guess, why he’s so adamant about refusing to apologize. What people are saying is that these blanket assertions of physical intimacy were never okay, and he just doesn’t accept that position.
By "never" here, I mean "never in my lifetime, or Biden's," obviously, not "never since the dawn of the universe." Backchannel conversations about this stuff have been going on for a VERY long time.

I first want to just begin by saying that I am a member of the Cedarville band of Piscataway. For those who do not know, the Piscataway are the indigenous peoples to the land currently known as Maryland and Washington, D.C. (Most of us reside in southern Maryland.)
Southern Maryland is still (for now) one of the counties in Md that haven’t been bulldozed to death by developers who want to build neighborhoods, shopping centers, multimillion dollar homes. (However, it’s developing fast).
