One thing I haven't seen a lot of attention to in discussions of the latest coverage of the Mueller report and pushback against Barr's summary: The sourcing.
The NYT credits their info on the Mueller team's feelings to "government officials and others familiar with their simmering frustrations." nytimes.com/2019/04/03/us/…
The Washington Post credits "people familiar with the matter," and says "members of Mueller’s team have complained to close associates." washingtonpost.com/world/national…
NBC's source is "a U.S. official who has spoken with" members of Mueller's team. nbcnews.com/politics/donal…
None of these stories, in other words, credit Mueller staffers directly. But there's been a barrage of chatter about what it means that the Mueller team is leaking to the press anyway.
I have hunches about what all this means, but I'm just a community college professor in the Bronx. I don't know anything about anything. It's interesting, though—both the sourcing itself, and the way it's being spun.
