As of this year my university requires anyone driving for university related work, even in your own car, to be a register approved driver if you want reimbursement. The registration requires your driving record for the past two years.
If you’ve been in WI for 2 years, it’s free, but if you haven’t (aka most new employees) then you personally have to pay to get copies of your driving record to submit with your driver authorization form. You cannot be reimbursed for this expense.
I would rather just eat the cost of mileage than deal with this right now. It’s holding up a $1,500+ dollar reimbursement from January.
The hoops we are required to jump through is mind-boggling sometimes & truly not worth the time, money & stress it entails.
