So someone screencapped this ancient blog post and put it on Facebook, and now dudes I don't know are calling me a liar. Fun times!:

I especially like being called a liar on Facebook, aka, "the one social media platform where you may actually put a quarter in my mother and create a problem I have to deal with in the flesh world."

Also, I appreciate that I'm being called a liar for a critique of the different ways male and female characters are treated, and the dreaded concept of the Mary Sue. (Hint: I hate that phrase. It's used to belittle, reduce, and dismiss female characters in utterly cruel ways.)

My favorite is the dude who said "this didn't happen, because if Harry Dresden acted like October, he'd be an over-emotional man-baby, and if she acted like him, she'd be a calculating sociopath."

Ignoring the part where "sociopath" should not be used as an insult...this was my EXACT POINT. That Toby was being read as a bitch for doing things that would be considered heroic coming from a male character.
