2/ Think about the maps experience: you put in where you want to be, and hundreds of factors are completely abstracted away and distilled into one optimal path, which is then doled out to you one simple instruction at a time
3/ You can see and adjust some of those factors if you want, but the default path is really very good. It frees you to focus on higher order activities: conversation, learning (podcasts/radio/audiobooks), or just thinking

1/ I'm wondering if others have a similar experience of reading as mine: that reading not only doesn't take much energy, it gives energy i..e. I have more energy after reading than before, and it's basically impossible for me to be too tired to read

Further explanation below
2/ Non-fiction or fiction, it doesn't matter. As long as I have at least some interest in the topic and the writing is not horrible, I can get into flow quickly and easily
3/ I've noticed that when I read, my vision is kind of unfocused & broad. I'm not closely scrutinizing any specific word or even sentence, more like "watching" the text go by. It's like listening to music, with my attention only sharpening on certain resonant or unique points

Okay this is getting cool! A +3 mace would be good enough at depth 5, but also *of paralysis* -- this character is going DEEP! Armor still mediocre. Unhesitatingly enchanted fire wand up to level 6 as soon as inventory started to get tight.
ULP! Shit just got real... inventory was full so I started "trying out scrolls". Found a map, glyphs, aaaaaaand "summon monsters". My armor is protected from that acid blob on the right, but not my weapon. Gonna further enchant my go-to fire staff to try to burn an escape route!

Purple = Communication
Pink = Weak

Makes perfect sense to me. Stone and JA go way back, RM is not really investigating this - he's been secretly investigating U1 - and JA is about to drop his final tactical nuke about HRC in time for the midterms, the culmination of his life's work.

I did something similar to this 5 years ago, in anticipation of EC & @theroots' Wise Up Ghost LP, on tumblr.

(You can still find all those posts if you look, although a lot of the YouTube links etc are now dead ends. It was 40 Days Of EC then, so for 2018 I'm upping it to 45.)
Mostly I will be going chronologically from the early years right up to the present, but it feels right to start out with Costello's 2002 song, "45."
