Those who followed the Oakland police 2016 sex exploitation scandal will remember Officer Ryan Walterhouse. Amid the uproar, he thought it was ok to exploit a sex worker (completely unrelated to "Celeste Guap"). The DA's #SB1421 Brady dump provides some new info on this case.
Turns out a confidential informant provided OPD's Ceasefire Unit with the dirt on Walterhouse. The source had video, texts, and bank information providing Walterhouse was exploiting a sex worker. 
The source, "X," was a pimp. He told OPD investigators that Walterhouse used Venmo to pay for sex.
The pimp said he was protecting "his 'bitch'" by informing on Walterhouse. He also described the information he proved to OPD as being the "key to the City," meaning he knew it was lucrative for OPD to show it was cleaning house.
