It was only a matter of time until one of the neighbors terrorized by Jesse Enjaian's racist shooting spree sued the Oakland police for allowing him to remain free and armed for 1 week. Enjaian targetted Black residents with rifle fire and seeming impunity.
For those who need a refresher on this violent incident: Enjaian shot up his Oakland hills street on at least 3 occasions over 7 days.

He shot at neighbors and their vehicles on March 10, 13, and 14th.
When OPD officers responded, they declined to arrest Enjaian and disarm him.
One of Enjaian's neighbors went to an Oakland police investigator for help. She alleges the officer didn't take fast action to get a warrant to disarm and arrest Enjaian.
The neighbor alleges that because OPD allowed Enjaian to remain at large, he was able to carry out a 4th shooting.

He also spray painted genitalia on people's cars and homes.

When OPD finally responded on 2-17-17, they shot and killed Enjaian.
According to this lawsuit, OPD Chief Anne Kirkpatrick visited the neighbors days later and apologized.

"mistakes were made," the chief allegedly told the neighbors.
Ya'll will remember @awinston reported on OPD's apparent mistakes in the days after Enjaian was killed.
