I saw this from several journalists today. It's a perfect example of how everyone could use the report to support whatever they were predisposed to already believe. In this case, the tweet isn't necessarily wrong, but it only tells half the story.
On the one hand, it's absolutely true that I already knew a lot of what was in the Mueller report because it had been reported by various outlets.

OTOH, the report also showed that some of those same outlets got major stories wrong and pushed certain narratives that were wrong.
The problem for the press is that getting 90% right and 10% wrong is not acceptable when your credibility is at stake with every story. Especially when it seems like that 10% was due to carelessness and desperation to promote specific narratives (whether true or not).
Further, the things they got wrong weren't small details or small stories, they were important ones. It's especially shocking how many of those stories were based solely on anonymous sources. The press cannot preserve credibility if they are spreading misinformation.
That isn't to say that we shouldn't commend the journalists and outlets that did get things right and put in the work to do so, but patting the whole press on the back given what they did get wrong and damage it caused is not a good look. It also ensures no attempts to improve.
