I'm going to rant for a second here...

We are seriously on the verge of significant and irreversible changes to the Democratic way of life.

Within the next two Presidential election cycles we face major advancements of other economies in the world, significant automation...

And duress, if not collapse, of our social safety nets (social security and medicare).

This is at a time when both the Republicans and Democrats have leading candidates, who, while pushing significantly different policies, align on a populist agenda.

If we lose our economic "first base" we seriously risk losing it forever and, in doing so, allow for another societal model to take front and center stage.

One of the most significant and beautiful aspect of our, while admittedly imperfect model, is blending various components of anarchy, capitalism, and socialism in a way that creates maximum freedom and benefit for the society as a whole.

This has resulted in major advancements in industry and technology.

Several countries want to see democracy fail. They want to see a rise in autocracy. And they want it because they believe they know what is best for everyone else.

And under a perfect and just leader, in theory, it could be the best model.. Unfortunately, as you can see around the world people are rarely perfect or just.

Because of this, we must ensure that absolute power is limited. Because of this, regardless of political differences...

We must ensure this future never comes to pass.

I believe in a world where people are largely free. Free to pursue life, liberty, happiness, and information. And this can never truly happen when a small group of people has control.

And to prevent such control, we must be free financially to pursue our own goals and desire for inormation. Free to make our own choices and, sometimes, even our own mistakes. Because if we cannot or do not make mistakes, we will never truly learn and never truly progress.

And at the same time, I believe in an altruistic government. One who does not control the people, but one that prevents those less fortunate or less educated from being taken advantage of.

So from now, through the election, I'm not going to focus on Trump, or a candidate. I'm going to focus on policy.

And, because of the serious implications that our decisions of the next few years may have, I truly and seriously encourage you to do the same.

Some of the things that I will post may not be 100% thought out. And they may not even be the absolute best idea. However it is an idea, and one that takes (or at least attempts to account for) various differences of opinion.

These ideas will rarely, if ever be perfect, and likely will not protect or benefit everyone. However, my true and sincere hope is that these ideas will serve as a framework to benefit the vast majority, and will provide a starting point for real, and serious conversation...

About how to fix everything for all of us.

So call out the trolls as needed, but give thoughts and opinions a thought before you engage.. because, truly, the last thing that any of us need is to be further separated and divided so that another world power can take the reigns.
