1 / I read @IlhanMN tweet and, in my role of the #BaffledImmigrant, I stopped and asked: "wait: is this even legal? Here in the USA? Because in the "shithole" country where I come from, Brazil, you will lose your license and my be arrested if you do that". So I did some googling.
2/ Apparently, this has been a concern for the mental health community for a while. Take a look at this 2016 issue of the Journal of Medical Regulation:

1/ Savage capitalism? As I read a tweet from one of my twitter-friends, I wanted to compare the reckless behavior of the Trump administration with early stages of capitalist development. I was looking for "savage capitalism" or "primary capital accumulation". Sources?
2/ Obviously, nowhere to be found when you need them in your computer. So I googled both and found @davidgraeber's article:

Biden was very clear about what he was doing. In 1989, for example, Biden went on national TV to criticize President George H.W. Bush’s plan to escalate the war on drugs — because Bush’s plan, Biden said, didn’t do enough to lock up a bunch of people. A simple way to explain it to your Fox grandpa: Say the 70% tax rate kicks in at one million dollars, and it’s 30% before that. You make one million and one dollar. Only the one dollar is taxed at 70%. The rest is taxed at 30%.
To be clear, Fox News grandpa will probably kick and scream and declare you’re lying when you tell the truth. But a small fraction of people really are confused. And the rest are going to have a harder time gulping down lies if you keep pressing, politely but firmly, the truth.

Here's a thread on how we helped achieve this outcome. After Trump won, many were skeptical that he would put forward Fed nominees who were as extreme as those he had nominated to other agencies. Fed Up was less cavalier.
We assumed at least some Fed nominees would favor eliminating the Fed's full employment. After all, VP Pence, who was influential on many early nominations, supported gutting the mandate. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
When news broke that Trump was likely to nominate Marvin Goodfriend, we researched his record exhaustively, and found numerous examples where he said he favored a single mandate and/or called the full employment mandate "incoherent."

vox.com/policy-and-pol… I’ve been offline, so I hope people are pointing out that this means Donald Trump’s Russian collusion is now a verified fact.
Whether it rises to the level of illegal criminal conspiracy remains an open question. But we know three things for a fact: 1) Trump knew Russia was trying to hack Democrats. 2) He issued orders to go after Clinton directly. 3) They obeyed. That is is collusion, period.
But honestly, the fact that he ever said in the first place is something people should take very seriously. The fact that they obeyed indisputably makes it collusion. But the fact that he said it meant it was always attempted collusion.
