Or there’s this gem by Janet Greene. I swear, this song pretty much sums up the sociological imagination of David Brooks.
This 1968 song could be a Fox News segment or a Trump tweet tomorrow. Fun fact, Tony Dolan served as one of Reagan’s lead speechwriters in the 80s.

In which we learn that lots of (presumably white) generals in today’s military admire white supremacist traitor Robert E Lee. (Unless Trump is just making stuff up like he often does.)
BTW, here are the two posters announcing that event attended by "fine people." One describes it as a "pro-White" event, the other lists leading white nationalists like Richard Spencer and Matthew Heimbach as speakers.
Claiming you were attending solely to honor Lee's military chops is like saying you went to a ceremony honoring Leni Riefenstahl sponsored by the American Nazi Party, but that you only went because you liked her camera work.

Remember that old aphorism "One person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter?"
I would be curious to know how many Trump supporters think of Hasson as "a freedom fighter who may just be a bit overzealous" and how many would just call him "a terrorist."
And I know, I'm assuming that Trump supporters would have even heard of Hasson...which they probably have not because their media of choice have not devoted much attention to him.
