i just got a copper IUD put in and this tweet is EXTREMELY REAL to me rn
look there's no perfect method of birth control for women
the pill can play havoc with your moods
IUDs can make your periods severe and your cramps hellish
condoms are good but men are such BABIES about wearing condoms "i can't get hard with a condom" "it doesn't feel as good"
considering that most forms of birth control take quite a toll on women - why are we not looking into things MEN can do

and then on TOP of that it will have to be called something stupid like 'MANFORCE BIRTH CONTROL FOR #MALES. WILL KEEP YOUR TESTOSTERONE HIGH AND YOUR SPERM PLENTIFUL"

1; I read a lot of whinny men crying about abortion being unfair to men, also about how child support is unfair to men, lets ignore the lies around this like men don't get a say about abortion, they do, or men cant get out of CS, they can. Lets just look at how unfair it all is.
start with conception, in order for a woman to get pregnant sex has to happen, not including IVF.A man has to have an orgasm,a woman may not have one. A woman can have 10 children and never once orgasm, A man must orgasm to be a dad, so unfair to men right?

A lot of folks under @nona’s brave thread are trying to shame her, claiming that no one needs abortion because of birth control.

This is false for a number of reasons.
For one thing, no method of birth control is 100% effective, even if used correctly all the time. And no one really can do that, due to being human. I guarantee 100% of the people shaming her are not the flawless human beings they pretend to be.
The demand that women have to be perfect 100% of the time is just another form of misogyny. It's saying that for women have to "earn" equality by being perfect, which happens to be a standard no woman can meet. It's a way to deny women's humanity while pretending to be moral.

It's actually really crazy that women are only fertile for about 6 days every month and for only half our lives. Men are fertile every single day of the year and almost the entirety of their lives, yet the burden of child prevention is placed on us.
We have the pill, IUDs, IUS, diaphragm, female contraceptives, the sponge, the injection, the patch, the ring, the cervical cap, the implant. Men are only required to use condoms or get vasectomies.

My youngest sister is 25, she works in TV animation & has health insurance. She loves to work, but also doesn't have a choice because of massive student loan debt. Pregnancy would mean bankruptcy, so in 2016 she got an IUD. This is a story about women's healthcare in America. /1
The cost of her IUD, a non-hormonal uterine implant that prevents pregnancy for ten years, was $750. Thanks to an ACA rule requiring insurance companies to cover contraception, she paid nothing out of pocket. As a then 23-year-old, fresh out of college, this was a godsend. /2
IUDs aren't fun or easy to adjust to. Some women, like my sister, experience heavy bleeding, cramping & tenderness, often lasting months or even years after insertion. She used to joke she got her IUD while we still could, before Trump was sworn in. She doesn't joke anymore. /3
