@BernieSanders Which also means that, as of today, it's now been four years since @BernieSanders granted an interview to @sevendaysvt, the largest newspaper in his home state.

Maybe this is normal elsewhere, but not in Vermont.

Every governor I've covered — from Jim Douglas to @GovPeterShumlin to @GovPhilScott — has held weekly press conferences.

Our other members of Congress, @SenatorLeahy & @PeterWelch, agree to most interview requests.

I've heard @BernieSanders supporters suggest that we're tough on him because he won't talk to us.

In fact, it's the other way around. He won't talk to us, it seems, because we've been as tough on him as we are on every other politician we cover.

He's never explained himself, but I've always suspected @BernieSanders blacklisted us because we covered:

-His gun control "evolution": sevendaysvt.com/OffMessage/arc…

-His spouse's legal issues: sevendaysvt.com/vermont/jane-s…

-And his abusive behavior toward staff: sevendaysvt.com/vermont/anger-…

Our biggest problem, as I wrote for @PostOpinions, is that we don't believe our job as journalists is merely to transcribe every word @BernieSanders utters and reprint every press release he issues.

And that's not gonna change.
