here’s the things that females/lesbians have that straight males don’t: healthy communities. and so many are unable or unwilling to form healthy communities with one another. it’s so much easier to be allowed to come into a community that already exists and supports each other.
the problem w this is that different communities need to exist for different people with different needs. trans women don’t have the same social, political, & safety issues/needs as females. they both do have their own, but consider what females are fighting for v what TIMs are.
female communities fight for our reproductive freedom. for justice for all the females being sexually exploited by men on the basis of their sex. for equal pay, the elimination of medical bias, we fight against beauty standards and domestic abuse women face at the hands of men.
TW communities fight for understanding, tolerance. the ability 2 express femininity as males w/o facing discrimination & violence from other males. 4 employment and housing rights, the ability to not be discriminated against in looking for a job or a home due to their gender ID.
all of these things are important. feminists, TERFs included, want all of these things to be a reality. but we CAN’T ADDRESS THE FIRST GROUP OF PROBLEMS IF WE AREN’T ALLOWED TO NAME OURSELVES AND OTHERS AS BEING SEXED MALE OR FEMALE!
