WITNESS TOM SOUTHERN reports- Purely by accident I found myself in a conversation this morning with a group of professional business people here in Homestead, where I live. Now, mind you, these people were not 'wild eyed hippie radicals', but professionals ‘ business people.1/8
I mentioned the 'facility', didn't call it a prison, didn't start ranting about the for profit scum that are lining their pockets at the expense of innocent & vulnerable children, pursuing Trump's hate filled agenda, nothing.2/8
Turns out these people did business with the prison, and or provided varying professional services, to the children in the prison. "Wow", I think to myself.

They all had to sign documents swearing they would not ever talk about what went on when they performed services for the prison. All of them related that the children they saw looked scared and traumatized, "beaten down" as one guy put it... 4/8
... that they were at all times followed by prison guards who never left their side the entire time, regardless of whatever professional services were being provided. They related 2 me they had heard that 1 boy tried 2 run away from his guard but was caught a ways down street.5/8
One of them related that they had heard that when a child was taken to a doctor's office, the people at the doctor's office were not allowed to speak to, or comfort the children who came there, not even to say things like, "this won't hurt, I promise".

This sound to you like the 'summer camp' the people who run this place with your money say it is?
Hopefully, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, who is a wonderful, passionate, caring person and thankfully, our elected representative will be able to begin a congressional investigation..7/8

...call your representative and ask them to support Debbie so she can get enough backing to shut this place down and take the money back from the thieves who have stolen it from the people, make 'em use all their profits to provide trauma counseling for these poor children. 8/8
