The first ten years of the internet were developed primarily in the Western world with similar norms, democracies, etc. The last ten years have been focused on non-Western countries. These countries have very different values from Western countries. #GPS19
Won states that over regulation of content that seeks a swift removal of both illegal content and legal but offensive content is a characteristic of an authoritarian government. I completely agree.
On AI, “imagine training a model to associate violent content with brown skin with a riot and violent content with white skin as a protest...AI cannot replace human judgement on the hardest calls and we shouldn’t want to.” 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
